Area record
Senedd records that name a place the gazetteer puts in Fflint Wrecsam, whoever spoke. Welsh Government’s words are included as the Senedd records them. Listed newest first, never totalled.
Counted by Siambr: places assigned through the ONS Index of Place Names in Great Britain (July 2024) and ONS Output Area lookups. A place name is matched as the gazetteer prints it, case and all. It is placed in a 2026 constituency through the ONS Output Area lookups for the gazetteer's ward, community, built-up area or local authority code. A name the gazetteer gives more than one place, or a place spanning constituencies, is listed as ambiguous, as is a name the Record also prints in lower case or as part of a person's name.

Diolch, Lywydd. Diolch, Brif Weinidog. Residents in rural Flintshire villages such as Llanfynydd and Penyffordd feel increasingly frustrated by the lack of reliable bus services. They're sporadic at best, and they're also under threat. For any vibrant community, that simply isn't good enough. This is about more than bus timetables; this is about people's independence, it's their ability to get to hospital, to get to work, to see friends and family, to live their day-to-day lives. Some of you might think that Fflint Wrecsam is an urban area, but I can tell you there are rural pockets in my constituency that feel as excluded and isolated as any in Wales. For some, especially the elderly, these barriers of transport can leave them feeling isolated with limited options to get around. So, will the First Minister outline what work is being done with Transport for Wales to protect and improve rural bus services to ensure these communities can access public transport easily and effectively?
-
Diolch yn fawr iawn. In my constituency of Fflint Wrecsam, there are currently 12,786 children living in poverty. In Caia Park, where I live, we have one of the highest levels of deprivation, not just in the constituency, but one of the highest levels across Cymru. We all know that children who grow up in poverty are far more likely to find themselves categorised as not in education, employment or training later in life, becoming trapped in a cycle of poverty. It's vital that we break that cycle, isn't it, and ensure that every child gets a fair chance to succeed.

Rail infrastructure outside of the Core Valley Lines in the south east of Wales is the reserved responsibility of the UK Government. There are no current plans to reinstate the railway line between Penyffordd and the east of Mold or any current plans for a study into the potential re-opening. The Welsh Government’s current priorities for improving the rail network are set out within Transport for Wales’ rail vision “Today, Tomorrow, Together”. I am committed to improving connectivity and access to public transport across Wales, particularly for communities with limited transport options. In many circumstances this will be more achievable with improved bus services rather than re-opening rail lines.
-
Will the Cabinet Minister commission a study into the potential reinstatement of the railway line between Penyffordd and the east of Mold?
