A gaf i ofyn am ddatganiad gan Weinidog y Cabinet dros gyfiawnder cymdeithasol, os gwelwch yn dda? Nid yw’r hanesion am ymosodiadau rhywiol mewn prifysgolion yn unigryw i Gymru. Ond yr hyn sy’n amlwg yng Nghymru yw bod disgwyl i bobl, ar adeg pan fyddant fwyaf agored i niwed, i fynd trwy broses gwyno cymhleth. Mae angen proses sy’n ddigon cadarn ac annibynnol i wirio bod y polisïau hynny’n cael eu gweithredu’n effeithiol, ac i sicrhau bod sefydliadau’n atebol am unrhyw fethiant i wneud hynny.
Ar hyn o bryd, beth sydd gennym ni yng Nghymru yw fframwaith rheoleiddio Medr, nad yw’n mynd yn ddigon pell, ac sydd wedi’i feirniadu gan brifysgolion am fod yn broses hunanwerthuso gan brifysgolion.
Felly, Drefnydd, a gaf i ofyn am ddatganiad gan Weinidog y Cabinet dros gyfiawnder cymdeithasol ynghylch pa asesiad sydd wedi’i wneud o’r angen i newid y fframwaith rheoleiddio yng Nghymru er mwyn atal methiannau tebyg rhag digwydd eto?

May I request a statement from the Cabinet Minister for social justice? Stories about sexual assaults in universities are not unique to Wales, but what is clear in Wales is that people, at a time when they are most vulnerable, are expected to go through a complex complaints process. We need a process that is robust and independent enough to ensure that those policies are being effectively implemented, and to ensure that organisations are accountable for any failings in doing so.
At the moment, what we have in Wales is a regulatory framework through Medr, which doesn't go far enough, and which has been criticised for being a self-evaluating process by the universities themselves.
So, Trefnydd, can I request a statement by the Cabinet Minister for social justice on what assessment has been made of the need to change the regulatory framework in Wales in order to prevent similar failings from happening again?
